I&#8217;ve ran linux on desktops in the past and am glad to move on completely.  I looked at a few different linux distros and decided to go with <a href=\"https:\/\/elementary.io\/\">Elementary OS<\/a> which is built on top of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been fun to setup a new OS on top of this older machine I have. I built this a few years back. It is running the Elementary OS smoothly with a 60gb SSD drive for the OS, 6gb RAM and the i7 920  @ 2.67GHz. While I&#8217;d like to ditch the desktop and just move to a laptop at this point in my life, this Cooler Master case has loads of space for Hard Drives which I tend to fill up&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After 6 months or so, I&#8217;ll try and follow up on this post with an over all impression. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve had Win7 on this computer for a while and now that EOL is here soon, it is time to move on.
