Windows 7 EOL, Switch to Linux elementary OS

I’ve had Win7 on this computer for a while and now that EOL is here soon, it is time to move on. I’ve ran linux on desktops in the past and am glad to move on completely. I looked at a few different linux distros and decided to go with Elementary OS which is built on top of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

It has been fun to setup a new OS on top of this older machine I have. I built this a few years back. It is running the Elementary OS smoothly with a 60gb SSD drive for the OS, 6gb RAM and the i7 920 @ 2.67GHz. While I’d like to ditch the desktop and just move to a laptop at this point in my life, this Cooler Master case has loads of space for Hard Drives which I tend to fill up…

After 6 months or so, I’ll try and follow up on this post with an over all impression.
